Will shaving my head fix my problem?

Okay here's the story:

Freshman year my dad gave me a really bad haircut. I had medium length wavy hair, long enough to comb behind my ears.

I cut it down to the stubble and my dad told me that if I get a hard bristle brush, like the kind african americans use to put in waves, and brush my stubble "backwards" my hair would be "trained to go backwards"

When my hair finally grew back it was wiry, all the hairs grow in different directions, it's stiff and bushy and annoying.

Will shaving my head completely fix this problem along with not using any shampoo?

Couldn't hurt right? Condition it a lot and keep the bristle brush away.

Hmmm... continue to use shampoo.

If your hair is easily wiry, it might be too long.

Try U.S. Army hairstyle. That style might looks cool for you!

You need to use conditioner to make it soft then brush it...it will go the way you want then.....

I don't think this will fix the problem. What you need to do is keep growing it out past the annoying stage; when it gets longer the weight of the hair will make it lay down again like it was before. Not using shampoo is probably not going to help either, but make sure you use sufficient conditioner and/or leave-in hair oils or moisturizers to keep it healthy. It sounds from your description like it may be dried out. How controllable your hair is and how much it stands up vs. lays down in the same direction has a lot to do with the length, especially for wavy hair. Different lengths work best for different hair textures.

using conditioner will help your hair from becoming stiff.

No shaving your head will not help .What you need to do is get a good conditioner. Wash your as often as you should and everytime use a good condition . Depending on your race choose a leave in conditioner accordingly. They make hair products that claim to control untamed curls. And stay away from blow dryers. Heat actually damages your hair .When you finish washing and conditioning let your hair air dry .I am an African American and I have shoulder length wavy hair and this is my regime.
