What haircut should I get?

Hi

I want to get a haircut but I'm not sure what kind of a haircut i want. I have long brown hair with a copper tint that reaches mid-back. It's not really that wavy but it's not completely straight either. I think its somewhere in between. The thickness is medium and I have a good amount of volume in my hair. I don't want to cut my hair short but I want to change the style because what I have now is a regular straight across cut. I have a light complexion if that makes any difference.

Please let me know what haircut would suit me best. Bangs are welcome. Pictures would be awesome because I would need to take a picture to the stylist so that she can try to copy it.

Well, Start off simple and easy. Get some layers put in and if you are willing, get some side bangs. Dont go to over the top though because You will be in MAJOR shock!!!!

Well layering your hair means making it look thinner. So if you choose to layer it, you choose this fate, but the only way to get it truly thicker is to let it grow out.

You're hair won't get thinner if you don't do anything to it. But straightening it will make it look thinner.

If your hair is loose and flies everywhere because it is so thin at the bottom, use some sleeking and shinning hair products because the oils and grease will weight your hair down and keep it from flying.

Happened to me too last year. Now, my hair is fine. Just wait it out. Try different hair styles for now.

If your hair is naturally straight but thick layers are the way to go. (I have naturally curly and thick hair so it won't work) Bangs would be perfect as well. Type in lily allen on google images, try her hair style only with layers.

Need a haircut, lowlight color, and style!?

My hair is four inches below the shoulder, and a medium blonde with a few different shades. I would like lowlight my hair a bit, but I'm not sure what color! Nothing too dark and strange.

I just got my hair trimmed a bit to give a sidebangs look, but otherwise it looks no different. when I get my hair re-cut and maybe lowlighted, I need a style! I don't want to go too short. Any pictures, sites, or ideas?

try layers! and if u like a wavy look, braid hair when u get out of the shower and unbraid it when its dry. low pigtails w/ bangs down, half ponytail, high ponytail. all quick and easy!

Well if your a boy gell and spike it. If your a girl you could straighten it,chrunch it, braid it, curl it, curl it and put it up in a pony tail, and maybe just in a bun.

Well without getting it cut to even it out, the only thing I could suggest is wearing it in a pony tail until you decide what to do with it. I know that always works for me.

try a nice whispy side-bang. I had the same problem and even though full straight bangs are no good for round cheeks, a nice soft side bang is sophisticated and cute.... just make sure your hair keeps a bit of volume also... get it cut in layers... u keep the length but since there are shorter layers in it, the hair falls nicely around your face

To get side swept bangs you would cut it like..........???? Answer???

Step 1: Divide your fringe into two sections - the top section (towards the crown) and the bottom section, (at the beginning of the hairline). Clip back the top section and take the lower portion, pulling it straight down towards your eyes. Snip away with scissors, tilted upwards at a 45 degree angle, till you reach the desired length.

Step 2: Take the same section of hair and do point cutting. Hold your scissors tilted sharply with the points towards your hairline, and snipping to give it a wispy look. If you choose not to do this, it will just be a straight-cut fringe.

Step 3: Unclip the top section of your hair and repeat steps 1 and 2. Maintenance: Trim every two weeks. Hair generally grows around 3cm to 6cm a week. Some people need a month, some just two weeks.

Quick Tip: When using any hair product, spread it out on your palm - not on your fingers - before smoothing it onto your hair.

A Long Fringe

Step 1: Make sure your hair is dry; wet hair is longer and your fringe may not look the way you want it after you've cut it when wet. Section your fringe into two or three sections from the crown to your hairline, depending on how thick you want your fringe to be. Comb your hair down towards the chin.

Step 2: Cut the fringe in a slight curve - not snipping in a straight line across your face, but leaving it slightly longer towards the sides, and just a little shorter towards the nose. Take your time and cut small sections at a time.

Okay so on the 10th i have a group interview at Hollister Co.

And I've read alot on here saying they only hire a certian "type", is that true?

Second, heres what i look like!

Im about 5'3, im not fat but not skinny (maybe like a size 8-10 depending on the cut of jeans) I have medium length blonde hair and big boobs(i hate them) anyway, what are my chances of getting a job there if the whole "type" thing is true!!!

And Lastly, Im going to school full-time, do you think a place like this would be agood place to work while im in college full time! i know they probally pay only min wage, but all i have to pay for is my cell phone bill?

I've been working at Hollister for the past 9 months, and I'm certainly nothing amazing, but I'm not hideous either. LoL! If you're fun and outgoing then you have a good shot. They need people who have flexible schedules and are loud enough to talk to customers over the music. A few pointers though - Hollister doesn't sell black, so don't wear black to the interview. Only have natural, if any, makeup on and no flashy jewelry. Remember to smile and you'll do fine!

As for the hours, when I was in school I worked 4 hours every other week, so if you just want a job for the heck of it. Try it out!

Ok, you are talking their talk, walking their walk you get along with them so well that you are "one of them". Show up in a cute dress, hair pulled up, a little make-up and nice heels, they will flip....may not even recognize you. Sometimes, we intimidate those around us when we fit in too well also. I would say you are at a better place anyway, you are still young need to focus on life and studies./...be friends because the healthiest relationship has to start as friends. You do sound pretty and you have the personality, give it time...it will all fall into place....one day you will see the guy next to you....your best friend may become the man you spend your life with and you will be much more successful and happy because of all this "friend time". The reasons for never getting asked out almost never are directly related to your looks, unless they're grotesque. The burned girl, or the one in a wheelchair, may not get asked out for that reason, but the girl who's being honest when she says she just looks big should look elsewhere for answers.

My best guess is the shy-standoffish-sarcastic trifecta. Any one of those can make it hard for maybe-interested guys to talk to you, and a little scary to try. So maybe work on being more approachable.

Also, it helps a lot if you're in activities where you're working side by side with guys. Whether it's school, church, political volunteerism, or a job, that gets you out there. Even if the guy who's your friend isn't interested, he's probably got friends.

when you first start talking to guys, they probably think you're really fun and want to be great friends with you because you're so good at talking to them in a nonflirtatious way. i'm a 16 year old girl and i've had my share of boyfriends and i met them all at very random places. ie. camp, parties, football games, etc. you don't even have to have a crush on them at first, but you have to show interest. try to add some more femininity to yourself either by the way you dress or do your hair/makeup, whatever. having a boyfriend or being asked out can really have nothign to do with looks. my best friend is really pretty and she has never had a boyfriend. so don't worry!

You can try using dye remover first. It won't get rid of the ligher parts, but it will get rid of any tint still left in them. Then try some brown dye over that. I suggest mosturizing your hair a lot before you do it, too. It will help the dye stick better.

And always remember: More expensive dyes aren't always better. I've used $20 dye and $8 dye, and I must say, the $8 stuff worked better and lasted longer. L'oreal has some really good dye and a wide range of colours.

The best thing to do is to go to a beauty shop and let them do it. I tried going from blonde to brown and then back to blonde and my hair was a big mess. I went to a beauty school which are cheaper than beauty shops and they repaired it......it is really hard to go back to brown after having it highlighted or blonde.....you really need a professional.......it does wash out when you go back to brown with the hair colors you buy over the counter in a few weeks.

i think you should leave about middle length and then straighten it quite oftenly just make sure you have a good heat protection spray . then either leave it out with a side parting or tie it up in a pony tail. you could also when you cant be bothered to straighten it put it in a loopy bun thing !!

Question about a new hairstyle..?

I have wavy, slightly poofy, reddish-blonde hair, medium length (a couple of inches past my shoulder) with relatively short layers. Should I grow it out or cut it? Why don't you go to a stylist and have them help you decide what would be best for you? Sometimes long hair can be as much of a hassle as short hair. A stylist would be able to give you an idea of what would look good on you, as well as something that would be low maintainance and easy to manage.

I had the same problem. I had long hair and couldn't stand the thought of cutting it but then my sister came home with short hair and i started to consider it.

So I finally cut it all off. It's dramatic. It's easy to take care of. It's fun to play with. IT'S DIFFERENT! I love this hair! Plus, since you haven't dyed it, you can donate your hair to Locks of Love. Great style with a great cause!

You don't need to get it cut loads or dye it in order for a change, try getting a fringe, or if you have one, a new type. There are loads of different kinds these days. Even changing your partern aswell can make a big difference, but don't forget to change your partern according to your fringe. Try some feathers framed around your face, some more layers and a front fringe, thats what is in fashion, and it is with medium lengthed hair! If you don't like the fringe you can always grow it out, or get one which you can easily change to a side fringe. All the best!

buy those soft curlers and sleep in them. it is soooo easy and you save so much time in the morning. you just take them out and only brush the top of your hair otherwise you brush right through the curls. then use hairspray, not mousse. ive found that a great brand of hairspray is matrix hairspray. and for looser, messier curls, you separate each curl in two. it is a more casual, less shirley temple look.

then for waves, sleep in braids. (the number depending on how wavy you want your hair. i would probably recommend about eight or so) then you just take them out in the morning and just brush the top of your hair. you can use hairspray, but i usually dont need it, but then again, my hair holds waves really well......

and if you shower in the morning, scrunch your hair with mousse and it looks pretty good but might get a little frizzy.

and to get a curled, more voluminous ponytail, here is what you do. just put your hair up in a ponytail before bed, then put anywhere from 1-3 curlers in it (depending on how much hair you have and how thick it is and how big you want your curls) then when you wake up, roll them right out, and re-tie your ponytail holder and brush the top of your head, without brushing down the curls. you can put hairspray in if you want, but you might not even need to for just a ponytail.

and as for just regular hairstyles, i would try sidebangs or whispy bangs instead of thick ones......dont know about the cut i might have to see the shape of your face, sry....

you can also do buns, because they are pretty in, or low pigtails, but you might be a little old for them, but my sister in college looks cute in them so i dont know.....

and side ponytails are cute and sporty.

as for hairbands, very cute and in!!!

u could wear your hair half-up, leaving your bangs down.....

reality check-will a style really look good/work on you. for example, your want a thin, straight flippy sort of style and you have thick curly hair that doesn't straighten well with a flat iron(straightener). Its not really realistic for the examples hair type.

The second one is nice but unless you have naturally super-straight hair it'll take time to style often. The first is easiest if you don't have the time or patience to style every morning but it would still look good.

I have the exact same problem. i'm 20 but look like i just hit puberty. lol try for an adult haircut, like side-swept bangs. or if you're face is the right shape, go for an edgier, razored haircut.

Wear more sophisticated clothing. Like Charlotte Russe. Also, sideswept bangs are very pretty. I wouldn't wear purple eyeliner-it looks kiddy. It's good that you stick to earth tones. 1.) Try to use a self-bronzer or tan.

2.) Try to have your hair grown out. The shorter your hair is, the younger you look. (Hair color doesn't matter).

3.) Black eyeliner is known to make people look older also. Maybe a medium brown on your eyelids and black mascara.

oh this is really hard to do and make it look right! I have medium thickness hair that refuses to do anything but be straight. It's almost "boob length" with some layers and I also have swoop bangs that haven't been cut in a while so they're now down to my chin. I was thinking about cutting it to my shoulders with layers (even though my boyfriend likes it long).

Also any suggestion on how to dark hair without permently dying it? I have pretty pale skin and dark hair so I was thinking about highlighting the contrast but didn't want anything too dramatic.

you have great hair.......the one and only thing you do NOT need to do is go too light with the color.....if you came to me I would suggest some carmel and light brown and deep auburn "ribbons" we call them down here.... for depth....with one solid color like you have there is no depth or movement to your hair.... it would look beautiful....

May I suggest getting your hair thinned out some. Have it styled in layers. You can start out with a few highlights in the front and none in the back. It may make your hair look like the sun has lighten it. You say your boyfriend likes it long, if you just get your hair thinned out it can still be long but will have some body to it.

I have medium length hair, and I'm trying to grow it out, so nothing too short. I have naturaly wavy hair, but the flat iron is my best friend, and I plan on keeping it that way. I would like a cut/style with a classic rock n' roll vibe. I want something that when its straightened and down, it could be paired with skinny jeans and converse OR a cute dress and flats (in other words, I don't want it to be something that would work for only one style).

2 different things you can do. The wax will definitely do the trick. BUT, not to much or it will weigh it down. You can also use mousse, blow your yair dry upside down. If it's not sticking out enough use a curling iron and curl it up and spray it.

I cut my hair for a job after high school. It sucks and one would think that in today's society, the days of that type of discrimination would be over. However, small towns and rural areas still suffer from this closed mindedness.

As far as what you should do... you can always grow it back out one day. Just make sure you are sure the job is worth it, or the money is worth it. You have to live with the decision . I still wish sometimes that I had my long hair.

that is a really beautiful haircut, one i might have to get too =]

it looks like a simple style, after you take away the curls at the tips %26amp; her gorgeous teases tresses. ask for a layered cut around your shoulders [any length would do, really.]

%26amp; for color, take your natural color %26amp; streak it with the colors that aren't already in your hair. like if your a redhead, streak it with dark brown, auburn, and blonde. [not in the same sitting, however, as this could cause color-bleeding and accidental mixing....not very pretty...]

when you get your cut, take the shortest layers, pull them to the front, [after a shower, when your hair can be blow-dried in any form] and just blow dry them to the side. i use bedhead hairspray but you can use any spray you like, and with a comb, just tease the top layer around your scalp...

%26amp; when all else fails, print %26amp; take that picture to your stylist [or email it to her] %26amp; let her do the rest. %26amp; if she can't or isn't sure about it...it's probably time to find a new stylist.

That's a really cute style. For dye I'd say either go dark brown, Loreal's Feria Black (if your hair's dark enough, it will give it blue highlights which would be cool with that style), or maybe even a dark brownish/redish...

I agree with Morgan, definitely take the picture in when you get it cut. Sometimes describing the haircut to the stylist gives that person a different mental image than what you're actually asking for.

Be sure to tell him/her what it is that you especially like about the cut -- the length, the side-swept bang, etc.

I think I'd ask them while I'm there for suggestions on a new hair color. I like the red in the picture, but maybe you'd look even better with blonde highlights or going a dramatic dark brown.

Chuncked...Not streaked...I just had mine streaked and didn't care for it as much...Of course, after it was done I saw some girl with the same coloring and style, but, her's was chuncked.....Loved it!! I need hairstyle help?

I have medium length hair just above my shoulders. It has enough wave to it to make it look like I haven't brushed it...I think it's called a cowlick...normally one side will look normal/straight/smooth and the other side wavy/messy/bulky. I go to the salon and get it cut and they can make it look so good...but as soon as I wash it I can not get the style back and I'm stuck with the weird hair again. It's very frustrating. What I need is a hairstyle that I can do myself without looking like I just crawled out of bed. I've tried flat irons, straightening creams, conditioners out the wazoo and my hair is still stubborn and I can not get the style I want. If your hair has natural texture that only way to remove it would be permanently straightening it with chemicals. Next time you get a trim ask you stylist to instruct you on some quick easy ways to get the style you want.

every good style starts with a good shampoo and conditioner. get a product meant your your hair type.

get a really good flat iron and straighten your hair, make sure your hair is COMPLETELY dry before straightening or it will make it worse. CHI has great products, irons, blow dryers, serums, shampoos, conditioners, sprays, they're awesome.

or you could blow dry your hair. make sure you do it so your hair doesn't frizz up, meaning dont point the blow dryer upward, point it down the hair shaft to make it nice and smooth. get a round brush, they have cheap ones in stores that work well. get one that has a metal base with holes in it, those are the best, at least i find they work better. but before you blow dry, use a serum or leave in conditioner or both if you want. i like paul mitchel "super skinny" hair serum, it makes your hair soft, shiny, and best of all, no frizz. or you could use "frizz ez" that works well too.

and the next time you go to the salon ask you stylist to tell you what they are doing to your hair step by step when they are styling it.

You would have had to specify as to what colour you wanted and how much you want the highlights to blend in with the rest of your hair. But make sure that you find someone who knows what they are doing, and if you are going to do it yourself, make sure YOU know what you are doing.

Okay so on the 10th i have a group interview at Hollister Co.

And I've read alot on here saying they only hire a certian "type", is that true?

Second, heres what i look like!

Im about 5'3, im not fat but not skinny (maybe like a size 8-10 depending on the cut of jeans) I have medium length blonde hair and big boobs(i hate them) anyway, what are my chances of getting a job there if the whole "type" thing is true!!!

And Lastly, Im going to school full-time, do you think a place like this would be agood place to work while im in college full time! i know they probally pay only min wage, but all i have to pay for is my cell phone bill?

I've been working at Hollister for the past 9 months, and I'm certainly nothing amazing, but I'm not hideous either. LoL! If you're fun and outgoing then you have a good shot. They need people who have flexible schedules and are loud enough to talk to customers over the music. A few pointers though - Hollister doesn't sell black, so don't wear black to the interview. Only have natural, if any, makeup on and no flashy jewelry. Remember to smile and you'll do fine!

As for the hours, when I was in school I worked 4 hours every other week, so if you just want a job for the heck of it. Try it out!
